The Houston Astros have now lost 100 games in three straight seasons, which is amazing. You will not be too amazed by that stat, however, when you consider plays like this one:

I’m not sure I understand anything about what Jose Altuve thought was going on in this play. He must have looked up and seen the throw going home without looking at his base coach, or fellow base runner, who was of course in front of him. And then he kept running to third base. And then, instead of getting in a run down, he retreats to third base like an asshole and gives up on the play.

I would also like to add that as I’m writing this, Altuve attempted a bunt with two outs and a runner on first in the eighth inning of a 1-1 game against the Indians. He got thrown out by 15 feet.

But you can’t be surprised, Astros fans, coming up short is what your team does best:
